Reiki Energy Healing

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A Reiki attunement is the process by which a person receives the ability to give Reiki treatments. The attunement is administered by the Reiki Master during the Reiki class. During the attunement, the Reiki Master will touch the students head, shoulders, and hands and use one or more special breathing techniques. The attunement energies will flow through the Reiki Master and into the student. These special energies are guided by the Higher Power and make adjustments in the students energy pathways and connect the student to the source of Reiki. Because the energetic aspect of the attunement is guided by the Higher Power, it adjusts itself to be exactly right for each student. During the attunement, some students feel warmth in the hands, others may see colors or have visions of spiritual beings. However, it is not necessary to have an inner experience for the attunement to have worked. Most simply feel more relaxed.
Luckily, no harm can be done from a reiki session. The only requirement for reiki is to be open to the exchange of energy, both physically, energetically, and from a soul level. Reiki can be hands on, or beamed from a distance. Some people feel the heat during a reiki session that is transmitted through the hands. Some people experience the sensation of floating hands, as if the hand is still in an area, but it has since been moved to another area. Some people experience a tingling sensation. Some people experience a deep emotional, physical, or soul release during or after the session. Most people leave feeling more relaxed, more balanced, and more connected to their energy body.
I've personally been trained in the Usui form of reiki, as well as through the Raven Keyes Medical Reiki foundation. Being a medical reiki master I'm able to help navigate the hospital or doctors office system, and support people in the operating room that are going through treatments such as breast cancer and heart disease surgeries. Here is a great short video on the benefits of reiki and the god like energy that is transmitted during a reiki session: https://youtu.be/Z-9Izkvh58c
At Habit, we offer individual reiki sessions, as well as an energy medicine yoga class, which incorporate yin like movement and poses with the offer of hands on reiki to help you relax into poses. To schedule a session follow this link:
